WooCommerce and Vantage: blog widgets still showing

Resolved 9 replies premiumthemetheme-vantage

WooCommerce pages still showing blog widgets on both shop and product pages. I’ve set to full width, no page title…no luck.

I’m developing/testing the theme locally, but have a site that needs to go public in a week.

Thanks in advance

    Hi William

Thanks for raising this. I see the challenge and am logging a bug report now so we can resolve in an update.

For now, one option we could try would be to use Jetpack Widget Visibility:

    http://jetpack.me/support/widget-visibility/

With that Jetpack module activated you can go to Appearance > Widgets, edit any widget and click the Visibility button next to the save button. From there you can choose a display condition or several conditions.

Let me know if that works for you.

Thanks so much for the quick reply. I'll try the JWV and let you know.

For sure. We’ll look at this for the next update but for now Widget Visibility seems to me like the best way to go.

(We can just hide the sidebar with CSS on the WooCommerce pages but then the sidebar code is still there so it’s not an ideal solution).

    Chat soon.

I guess using a child theme and custom pages would be klugie way to get around it. I'll update you on the widget solution. Thanks

Wouldn’t be too bad. If you comfortable editing a file or two and using a child theme I could walk you through it.

Not a problem. I'll let you know later today. I know some PHP, been a
Coldfusion developer for 14years as well as CSS, JavaScript, HTML. Thanks

Ok fantastic. Let me know which way you’d like to go a bit later and we’ll take it from there.
