When I try to edit my homepage, I get a blank screen.
I am using WordPress 4.4.2 running the Weaver II theme.
The only plugins that are active are:
1. Akismet. Deactivating it does not fix the problem.
2. Enhanced Text Widget. Deactivating it does not fix the problem.
3. Page Builder by SiteOrigin. Deactivating it does allow me to edit the front page, but the I loose all of the Page Builder functions.
4. SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle. With Page Builder activated, and the Widgets Bundle deactivated, I can edit the front page; however, I lose all of the Widgets Bundle functions.
5. Weaver II Theme Extras. Deactivating it does not fix the problem.
Additionally, only with all plugins deactivated can I see the Weaver II Admin screen (I only see the first line at the top.) The exception is if I have the Weaver II extras plugin installed, I can see the Weaver II Admin screen.
Everything was working a few months ago. I have only now had time to check into why.
I have deleted and reinstalled all of the plugins (except Akismet and Weaver II Extras)
I did clear the cache as recommended in a posting I read, but this did not fix the problem.
I appreciate any help.
Thanks,
Chuck
Hi ChuckMays,
Could you try changing to a default WordPress theme? This way we can rule out if this is a theme issue.
Hi, Alex S,
Changing the theme solved the problem. Thanks.
What are my options?
I just noticed another issue:
The following links appear at the bottom of the front page. It is unwanted and I do not know when it first appeared. I couple of weeks ago, I reinstalled the Weaver II and it temporarily disappeared.
Private Snippet
I just checked other pages on the website and there are unwanted links on some of the other pages.
Could this be related to the main issue with the Weaver II theme?
Hi ChuckMays,
You really only two options at this time. Contact your theme developer to try and resolve the issue, or, unfortunately, switch themes. I would recommend trying the former option before considering the latter.
Typically, when links like that appear – you’ve been hacked. :( This, sadly, isn’t something I can help you with. I would suggest hiring someone via a site such as Codeable to resolve the issue and to harden your website. I’m sorry you had to find out about this from me. :(
Hi, Alex S.
Thanks for the help and advice.
