Hello!
I did some updates today to Vantage, Page Builder and some of the Plug-ins (such as Black Studio TinyMCE Widget) and now any page that is using Page Builder does not show correctly. Specifically the Home page and Products page.
I did some edits on the products page after the updates and everything was working fine. Now it says the widget is missing.
Any clue what might have happened? It looks like the entire site is down, but that is just because the home page isn’t working.
Thanks for your help!

Hi Mindy,
From the console I can see you have a 500 Internal Server Error that means something has gone wrong on the web site’s server. Please consult with you hosting provider on this. The hosting provider should be in a position to read the error log.
Let me know the outcome
Addo,
After contacting my hosting provider, they informed me it had something to do with the update to one of the plug-ins and/or my theme update that seemed to cause the problem. The reloaded my site from a backup that was prior to the plugin and theme updates I made and the site is up and running.
A lot of the pages on the site use Page Builder and Widgets to get the look we want.
But, it still doesn't solve the issue. I have left the older versions of the plugins and themes. These are the items that still need updating below:

Vantage PremiumYou have version 2.2.3 installed. Update to 2.3.3.
Can you please tell me which ones are not compatible with the most recent version of Vantage Premium and Page Builder so I can do a work around before I make any further updates?
Hi Mindy
Sorry to hear about the hassle.
The problem is that you’re using Page Builder, pre 2.0, with WordPress, post 4.0. That combination unfortunately doesn’t work well together. If you’d like to send through a set of temporary login details I can attempt the update for you again, hopefully we’ll have better results.
Would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so we can log in and take a look? You can create the account with the following email address:
[email protected]
Just navigate to Users > Add New in your WordPress admin. Enter siteorigin for the username and [email protected] for the email address. Make sure you’ve selected Administrator for the role and enabled the “Send Password” field so we receive the details.
Once we’re finished taking a look, you can delete this account. We’ll let you know when to do that.
Hi Andrew,
I've set up the user and you should have received the information via email. Please let me know if you didn't or need anything else.
Thanks so much for your help! :)
Hi Mindy, sorry doesn’t seem like anything came through via email. Would you mind sending the username and password to: [email protected]
Thanks
Hi,
I’m having a similar issue where ‘Black Studio TinyMCE Widget – Visual Editor’ isn’t working in the widget areas header, footer and sidebar. I wondered whether all the widgets I had installed maybe causing a problem.
To check this I have started a new site with stripped down plugins: Page builder / Metaslider / Black Studio TinyMCE Widget.
I have created a test with the same content in each section of the page here: http://www.mobilebarman.co.uk
Hi Kevin
I’d start by testing with all other plugins de-activated. Testing with only Black Studio activated should let you know if a plugin conflict is to blame.
If you need a follow-up on this, please open a new thread and I’ll jump in there:

I’m on/off this weekend so latest reply will be Monday. Thanks :)

Andrew…they didn't work for me either. I've deleted the user and added a different one. I've asked WP to send you an email with that information and
I will also follow up with an email. You might have to verify that the account is correct from your end.
Thanks!

Andrew, I've just recreated the siteorigin1 user with the [email protected] email. You should get an email from WP. Please let me know if that is working now. Thanks.
Yay! I’m in. If you could please bump that account to Administrator level I’ll take a look at the problem. Thanks :)
Awesome! I've changed it to Administrator. Thanks!
Ok, let’s try get everything up to date.
That would be awesome! :) Thank you!
All is going well. Will explain more now.
Quick one, can I update Vantage? Can you confirm you haven’t edited the code directly in theme files?
Thanks
Yes, you can update Vantage. Any edits I've done have been through custom
CSS.
We’re up to date. Please could you login to Appearance > Customize and re-apply your menu padding, it was thinner. We had a bug in the last version of Vantage which is now resolved, Customizer settings weren’t saving. Sorry about that.
I’ve de-activate the SiteOrigin Legacy Widgets plugin. That plugin is unfortunately no longer compatible with Page Builder. Any widgets you’ve added content to from that plugin will unfortunately need to be added again. The Legacy Widgets plugin has been replaced by the Widgets Bundle:
http://wordpress.org/plugins/so-widgets-bundle/
We have Braam, our new developer working almost full time, just on this one plugin. There are already lots of useful widgets in the plugin with many more on the way.
Hopefully you don’t need to re-do too many widgets.
Let me know how things are looking.
If you have a moment, you can delete the page I created called Home – Backup. I was preparing for another scenario that never happened. That page can be trashed and deleted. Thanks :)
Hi Andrew, I've taken a quick run through and it looks like everything is working correctly! YAY! Thank you so much for your help with fixing this!
You guys rock! :)
I'll add the new widget bundle and see what is up! :)
If we're good to go, let me know if I can deactivate the extra admin account. :)
Thanks again!
Awesome.
Just like with Jetpack, not all of the widgets are ON by default. You can control which widgets you want active from Plugins > SiteOrigin Widgets.
Thanks, we’re all done, you can de-activate the SiteOrigin admin account.
Yes, I can delete that one. Thanks again! :)
For sure, glad we could help. All the best.
Great! Thanks! :)
