Widgets not working

I have the page builder and widgets bundle installed, but I can’t get the hero and simple masonry to work, neither will allow me to add photos. I’ve changed the themes a few times, but want to use Bento, which recommends Page Builder. Is there something I should be doing to have them activate fully.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Keith,

To clarify, what happens when you try and add photos? Are you shown an error message? Or are they just not visible?

    Hi Alex

Nothing happens, I click on the add button and nothing changes, I can change everyting else such as height, margins etc, but it won’t add anything and it won’t allow me to change from 4 columns. This is what pretty much happens with the Hero widget as well.

    Hi Keith,

Can you please try adding an image again and once you’ve tried that, can you please send me the contents of your console? Please refer to this guide on how to access your browser console.

    Hi Alex
it didn’t work again, I’m using Beaver page builder as I couldn’t get it to work in Site Origin Page Builder either:

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Keith,

I don’t like the look of the console contents you just provided. Do you have a public URL where we can take a look at your website?

    Hi Alex

I deleted the widgets and downloaded them again and it seems to have cleared itself and looks to be working now, I’m just going through the widgets to make sure. Thank you for your help.

    Hi Alex

I’m getting these error messages when I make a banner using the hero widget, I tried building the whole thing and got these messages, so I then deleted it and just put in two lines of text and still got the error messages.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Keith,

That’s odd. That suggests that something is unsetting the form data.

Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.

If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.

    Hi Alex

I reverted back to site origin page builder and stopped Beaver and it’s working now, so I think that something must have been causing a conflict between site origin widgets and Beaver. I have used various templates previously and that did not help the issue.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Keith,

So, to clarify, is everything working now?

  11. 7 years, 6 months ago Keith

    Hi Alex

Yes they appear to be, I’m going through them one by one as I need them, but at the moment they are all working.
