I’m having problems with Page Builder in a couple of areas. Hope it’s OK to combine them in one post because I think they’re related.
I have 3 plugins total : Page Builder, Widgets Bundle and WPDataTables
I can’t load a pre-built template unless I disable the Widgets plugin. Then it shows a bunch of errors that widgets aren’t activated. So I activate the widgets. Most of them I can edit but the Hero widget just shows a single blank frame and I can’t do anything with it. The Button widget says “The site is experiencing technical difficulties.” But the Headline widget and others seem to work – I haven’t tried them all.
Then, if I go into Customize my theme ( I’m using your Corp theme ) it says “The site is experiencing technical difficulties. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.” But, if I deactivate the widgets plugin, it lets me into the customize section.
I’m running WordPress 5.2.2 on Linux.
I’m afraid to deactivate WPDataTables because I’ve spent a lot of time building up the databases.
I’m going to reply to my own thread. Got it working. The problem was my site was running an older version of PHP, 5.6. I updated to 7.1 and everything works fine now. I did notice a number of threads related to this sort of behavior and the reply was always to start disabling plugins. So, hopefully this will help others out trying this.
Hi Harold
