I’m experiencing an issue where widgets break when switching from the SiteOrigin Page Builder to the Classic WordPress editor. This issue affects both default SiteOrigin widgets and custom-made widgets. Here are the details:
Steps to Reproduce:
Create a page using the SiteOrigin Page Builder.
Add widgets to the page, including the default Accordion Widget and custom-made widgets.
Switch the editor to the Classic WordPress editor.
After switching to the Classic editor, the widgets break.
The default Accordion Widget and custom widgets do not display correctly, and the layout becomes distorted or loses structure entirely.
Tested on a fresh WordPress installation with the default theme and only the SiteOrigin Page Builder plugin installed.
Any guidance on how to maintain widget functionality when switching editors would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your assistance.
Hi Klaus
Thanks for getting in touch.
The described behavior is expected; switching to the default editor should only be used if the page is being revamped or some similar unusual circumstance. Widgets must remain in Page Builder or a theme/plugin widget area to function normally. Is there a particular workflow or set of actions you’re looking to achieve?
