Widget text can’t be changed in HTML format

7 years ago · Last reply by Alex S 7 years ago

I have been using the SiteOrigin widgets on my website for a little over a year and a half and recently they changed to a style that doesn’t allow for HTML editing, so if I want anything besides plain text I have to code it. There is obviously something wrong but I can’t figure out what or how to fix. Please help!

    Hi,

Around the time this started, WordPress introduced an update that transformed the text widget into a very basic version of the WordPress editor and SiteOrigin Editor widget. Unfortunately, this change does prevent a lot of HTML from being added to the text widget due to the nature of TinyMCE. To make up for this, WordPress introduced a new widget called the Custom HTML widget. This widget is effectively what the old text widget was.
