Widget Styles Panel keeps Loading and does not Appear

I am having a site already set up since last 10 months.

Recently I was adding a new page and creating it with siteorigin.

But the widget styles panel in the visual editor window keeps Loading and the tabs does not appear.

I am not able to make my page as I want due to the options now appearing in the widget area.

I contacted my hosting provider, they also were unable to solve my issue.

Please help me solve this issue very soon.

Thanks in advance for helping me out.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Mlz8online,

Do you currently have Wordfence installed?

    If you do:
This is likely a WordFence issue. The issue is that it’s initially very strict so things like the Learning Mode do definitely help in resolving issues like this one. However, if you want to “skip” the learning process and just use your widgets you can do so pretty easily. Go to the affected widget and open it up, don’t get “blocked” yet. Instead, open up another tab on WP AdminWordFenceLive Traffic and filter it by blocked traffic. Then make an adjustment to your button widget and you’ll get blocked. Go back to the Wordfence tab and press the whitelist param from FireWall button. This is 100% safe as the contents of the field are not at all close to what would be required for an XSS attack. (it’s really quite odd it would even suggest such a thing…).

Let me know if this helps.

    If you don’t:
This is very likely a plugin conflict. Could you please try a plugin conflict test? Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.

If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

    Hi Alex,

Thank you for the reply and guidance.

Wordfence is not installed, so I performed the plugin conflict test, but the issue is still present.

    Thanks

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Mlz8online,

Could you please replicate this issue (as in, get to the point where it keeps loading) and then could you please send me the contents of your console? Please refer to this guide on how to access your browser console.

    Hi Alex,

    It shows as –

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Mlz8online,

Preface: The below instructions will require the use of FTP. Please contact your hosting provider if you need help with using FTP.

At this point, we need to work out what the actual error is and to do this, you’ll need to enable WP_DEBUG and WP_DEBUG_LOG. This will require editing wp-config.php.

Once you’ve done that, please replicate the issue then send me the contents of the WordPress debug log at wp-content/debug.log

WP_DEBUG was already true, then I went to wp-content/debug.log
    and found the root.

Now the widgets are loading, sometimes it’s taking few seconds but are now loading.

Thank you very much Alex for your guidance and help.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Mlz8online,

Glad you worked it out. Could you please tell me what the cause was? That way if someone has a similar issue they’ll be able to work it out without having to enable WP_DEBUG / WP_DEBUG_LOG.

Actually, WP_DEBUG was already enabled in the file, means it was “true”. Then when I opened wp-content/debug.log
It showed the URL where the bug was. And that URL contained the file from the plugin Light Box Plus Colour Box.
So when I deactivated that plugin, then the widgets were loading.

I hope this would be helpful for others.

    Once again thank you Alex.
