Widget Styles and “columns-2”

Hello, everybody. Widget Styles by SiteOrigin are:

A) Attributes (Widget ID, Widget Class, CSS Styles, Mobile CSS Styles)
B) Layout (Padding, Mobile Padding)
C) Design (Background Color, Background Image, Background Image Display, Border Color, Font Color, Links Color)

I have a general and a specific question, respectively:

GENERAL QUESTION 1) Do you have links with a lot of examples on how to customize/use the 3 widget styles just listed here above? We can definitely do a lot of things, but where to find great guides with examples of Widget Classes, Padding, CSS Styles, etc?

SPECIFIC QUESTION 2) I’ve found out that if I insert “columns-2” into the field widget class, I get a wonderful two columns appearance of the contents used (Let’s say that I use the Widget called Custom Menu). It works well on Desktop Computers and iPhone (2 colums appearance, beautiful and space saving), unfortunately it doesn’t work on android devices, cause everything is displayed as long 1 column. How can I make it be displayed with 2 columns on Android smartphones as well?

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Piccolo,

    1. Unfortunately, outside of the base Page Builder tutorial, we don’t.

    2. To clarify, either your theme or another plugin is adding this class as SiteOrigin Page Builder doesn’t include additional CSS for the Widget Class field (that field is designed to allow you to easily add a custom widget class.

As such, this isn’t something we can directly assist with as it’s not being added by us. With that said, this sounds like its by design as columns will typically collapse on mobile devices due to the very limited available room.

I would recommend using the standard Page Builder columns rather than a custom widget class solution. If you need to add a column to a column, I would use a layout builder widget.
