I have a few widgets on the homepage of my site (I use the page builder), and I want to edit the hero widget at the top – every time I try to open it, the editor opens up for a second, then closes and I’m left with an empty page with a timestamp at the top. I checked the other widgets – all of the others open normally except the custom HTML one. When I try going into the live editor, the webpage doesn’t load on the right side. I *think* the hero section and the custom HTML section are the only ones that I changed the CSS for, but I’m not savvy enough to know if that’s the reason (or what to do about it if it is). This hadn’t been an issue before. (I also tried clearing the cache on WP and on my browser, but that didn’t do anything).
Thanks for your help!
Hi Danit,
The date outputting when you open a widget is a common sign that Wordfence, for whatever reason, has incorrectly flagged the request. To resolve this please navigate to WP AdminWordfenceTools and open the Live Traffic tab. Filter by Blocked by Firewall and search the request you just made, it’ll be associated with your user account and the parm will start with body: instance=%7B%22frames%22%3A%5B%7B%22content Click Whitelist param from Firewall.
Perfect, that did the job! Thank you!
