widget bug removal?

10 years ago · Last reply by terrific 10 years ago

Hi,
I have a bug on a SiteOrigin Editor widget I added to the Right sidebar . I would like to delete this widget because it hangs and crashes my website.
When I deactivated the Editor widget in the widget bundle, everything seemed to be working fine. This confirms to me that there’s a bug with the editor widget.
However, I need this widget, and wish the bug would be removed. How can this be done?

    Hi Terrific.
Just to confirm; your browser crashes during the editing process and not the actual viewing of your website, correct? What is the contents of the widget? Have you tried directly deleting the widget and recreating it?

    Hi Alex,
Yes, it’s the browser that crashes. The website just hands and then I get the google chrome’s page unresponsive message.
This widget contains text. I want to delete it; but I can’t, because once I click on it the site freezes. Infact, when I go through my dashboard-Appearance, and click on Widgets, the site freezes.
Then when I go through plugins to SiteOrigin widgets bundle, and deactivate SiteOrigin editor widget, the site starts working properly again.

Can you please provide me with a link to your website?

    it’s maternitynest.com
I’m still creating it, so I just deactivated the maintenance mode. The widget in question is the last one on the right sidebar that says “Tip of the Week:pregnancy”. I can’t get it out.

    Hi Alex.
Problem solved! I used a different browser-Mozilla, and I was able to remove the widget. Thank you so much for your help.
