Why isn’t the search bar working in the Unwind theme?

I’m very new to WordPress and the world of coding, so please bear with me.

My search bar doesn’t seem to be working. I tried entering in tags and then words from previous posts, but alas, it gives me a page not found” page. Is there something I’m missing in setup?

My website is amateurdinosaur.com

Thank you for any help,
Kristina

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Kristina,

Please navigate to WP AdminSettingsPermalink and save the page. Does the search work correctly now? If not, Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.

If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

Thank you for your response, Alex.

I tried saving the permalinks page and then tried disabling non-SiteOrigin plugins and clearing the cache, but neither action worked. Hoping there is another solution to the problem.

    Thank you for your help!

    Many thanks,
    Kristina

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Kristina,

I suspect, at this point, this is a configuration issue. Can you please try temporarily changing the theme? This will either confirm if its a theme issue or if it’s a configuration issue.

    Hi Alex,

I temporarily changed my theme to SiteOrigin’s North and the search bar was still not working. I also deactivated any non-SiteOrigin plugins but it still wasn’t working. Is there anything else I can do?

Thank you for your continued help!

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Kristina,

Can you please try changing to a default WordPress theme?

If that doesn’t work, I would recommend getting in contact with your hosting provider. State that you suspect there may be something wrong with your WordPress .htaccess and you would for them to remove it for you.

Thank you for your help, Alex. I talk to the hosting people and they corrected it. I appreciate the help!

    Still a newbie,
    Kristina
