White Spaces on Hero Image and Layout Slider

Hi,

There’s an obvious fault here that needs to be picked up on.

Sure it’s ok adding CSS as a bodge job to get rid of it, but it’s not really a permanent option.

I’ve managed to create a ‘hero image’ following a tutorial on youtube, using the Siteorigin Layout widget, but now that there are dedicated Hero Widgets, and Layout Slider Widgets in the toolbox, is it not about time that these were repaired so as not to output general white space above and below each widget?

I’ve found no CSS that resolves this so I cannot even do the aforementioned ‘bodge job’.

I can’t even find the offending rogue code in Siteorigin CSS so I’m either stuck with having to use the Layout Builder widget, or not using any top image at all, as in it’s present state, it looks a total mess.

Please advise.

    Sorted thanks to the incredible efforts of Premium Support.

    But I still think that the widget row spacing thing should be looked at.

    Thank you Alex!

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Ramon,

    The row spacing is standard Vantage theme CSS. It’s sadly something we can’t remove due to legacy reasons as it’s likely to cause display issues (due to how certain people may have bypassed it) or other visual differences (certain people want the spacing to be present so we can’t suddenly remove it) upon updating Vantage. Sorry mate. :(

    This is a copy of my Premium Support reply (purely for the reference of others):

    Okay, so the spacing is actually standard row spacing. To remove it, please add the following CSS to WP AdminAppearanceCustom CSS:

    .layout-full .panel-row-style.panel-row-style-full-width {
    	padding-top: 0;
    	padding-bottom: 0;
     }

    You might also need to install the SiteOrigin CSS Editor.

    Ok, so it worked for my first widget, but now every time a add a new row, there are these ugly looking row spacing white spaces again.

    Honestly, I cannot see why anyone would want these ‘row spacing’ elements that are uncontrollable on their website.

    So for the benefit of those who DO want these ugly eyesores, how about adding a widget that removes or adjusts row spacing, which would keep everyone happy?

    After further investigation, I found the Siteorigin Page Builder settings page.

    When you find the layout tab and change the row/widget bottom margin setting from 35 to zero, voila – no more ugly eyesore white spaces!
