Hello, I’ve checked the many other threads on this same topic, but none seem to cover my issue.
I’m using sliders on three different pages of my website, which is WordPress (updated to the latest Gutenberg version) with the Sydney theme.
The home page https://zelaphas.com and the commission page https://zelaphas.com/commission display the sliders correctly. For what it’s worth, These pages were built before the Gutenberg changes and use the Page Builder plugin with rows and columns for the Site Origin Sliders.
The page on which the sliders are misbehaving is https://zelaphas.com/art. This page uses the Gutenberg “blocks” method.
Upon first loading this page in any browser, there’s a huge white gap underneath each slider before the next content. On desktop, if you mouse over, you’ll see the pagination dots at the bottom of this gap.
As soon as you interact with the slider, click to ‘inspect’, the gap seems to disappear. This is making it really hard to inspect and isolate the problem. Waiting for it to disappear is pretty random.
Please let me know if Site Origin slider only works when used via Page Builder, and if it doesn’t work in the new WordPress Gutenberg blocks; I can change this page if so. If this problem has nothing to do with that, please advise how I might fix.
Thanks in advance for any help.
TLDR:
– 2/3 pages with Site Origin Slider Widgets on them are functioning properly, one is malfunctioning
– The malfunctioning page uses WordPress Gutenberg Blocks, the functioning ones use Page Builder rows and columns
– Difficult to isolate the problem since it tends to only appear on first load; hitting inspect hides the problem
– “problem” defined as added white space between bottom of slider images and slider ‘dot’ pagination; the space causes a gap underneath the slider and the content below
– observes in Chrome and Firefox on Mac so far
Hi Zelaphas,
Unfortunately, I can’t seem to replicate this issue in FireFox or Chrome. Are you able to replicate this issue on a different computer?
There are no known issues with any of our widgets and the Block Editor.
The SiteOrigin Slider will resize the slider when you resize your browser so this, while not ideal, is actually intentional.
Opening the inspector will trigger a resize event. You can avoid this issue by opening a new tab, opening the Inspector and then viewing the page. Are you able to replicate this issue while using either Chrome Incognito Mode or FireFox Private browsing mode?
