When sharing posts, Facebook doesn’t grab post featured image
Greetings!
When I share a post on Facebook (for example, this one: http://goo.gl/cN4M5V) instead of showing the post featured image, Facebook grabs random images from the home page.
The Facebook debugger says:
Warnings That Should Be Fixed:
Inferred Property – The ‘og:url’ property should be explicitly provided, even if a value can be inferred from other tags.
Inferred Property The ‘og:title’ property should be explicitly provided, even if a value can be inferred from other tags.
Inferred Property The ‘og:description’ property should be explicitly provided, even if a value can be inferred from other tags.
Inferred Property The ‘og:image’ property should be explicitly provided, even if a value can be inferred from other tags.
I found another thread that discusses this issue (here: https://goo.gl/NMx0JN) but the recommendation was to install an addon that hasn’t been updated in over two years, which is kind of a red flag and an invitation for trouble.
In that same thread, there is also a recommendation to “install a plugin called WordPress SEO.” I *am* running the Yoast SEO Plugin, but not the premium version, if that helps.

1Hey Tim
It’s outside of Vantage’s domain as a theme to add the necessary og: tags for Facebook. WordPress SEO can assist with that.
With Yoast SEO activated go to SEO > Social > Facebook and ensure the setting that reads “Add Open Graph meta data” is enabled. You can also add a default/fallback share image there.
Right now FB is grabbing your logo as it’s the first image on the page. Here is WP Beginner running through a few ideas on this exact issue: http://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-fix-facebook-incorrect-thumbnail-issue-in-wordpress/
