what is the rule to judge when to use retina logo?

I setup a multilingual website using vantage theme (say, Chinese and English), and 2 set of logs should be displayed for each language, since there’s only one set of logos could be set, so I want to change the logo using javascript. I
could judge current language in use, however, I couldn’t see when to use retina logo.
Could you please show me the rule? thank you!

    Hi

    I’m afraid this is more of a custom development job. The Retina logo is set using media queries to judge the viewport and then Javascript to change the logo from regular to the double-sized version.

    Hope you find a way forward.
