What is the easiest way to change Permalinks from several pages from the standard Url to ‘Postname’ permalinks?

Hi,

I might be a bit of a dummy, but I get a bit confused with a lot information i read about changing the standard permalinks into ‘pretty’ ones.

I’m using vantage premium.

How can I change the settings to postname with the links actually working?
Do I only have to change a single thing, in the htaccess file or should i also install a module (mod_overwrite) what people talk about in othere forum threads?
I don’t really know what needs to be done.

I installed the ‘custom permalinks’ plugin, can that be helpfull? With that plugin you can change the permalinks in the standard setting, but still the links are not working.

I’m very grateful if you can help me!

Mitch

    Hi Mitch

Start out by heading to Settings > Permalinks, select Post Name and hit Save. Everything should be fine from there, if not we can then look into it further.

The problem is solved! Thanks. The host had an option to sync htaccess on the website in control panel.
