The site I am working on (www.wellandfooddrive.com) is currently using Pitch. I purchased Pitch Premium, and when I go to do the upload it warns me that the current customizations will be lost.
Exactly which customizations will be lost?
Does that include the theme options in the admin panel? Will my pages, slides, clients, and projects still be there? Anything else beside my custom CSS?
Guess I’m wondering how much I need to copy and paste out so I can paste it back in after the upgrade.
Thanks!
Hi David
Thanks for your support.
When WordPress themes update they overwrite their own folder. This folder is located at /wp-content/themes/pitch/. If at any point you’ve modified theme files, at a code level, within this folder, then those changes will be lost on upgrade/update.
Posts, pages, plugins, plugin settings, theme settings, general settings, these are all stored in the database and won’t be impacted by upgrading the theme.
If you’ve for example modified style.css via Appearance > Editor without using a child theme, those changes will be lost.
Hope that helps. Let me know if there is anything I can clarify.
Thanks :)
The upgrade went flawlessly.
Thanks Andrew!
Awesome :) Really glad to hear it.
All the best.
