Website layout destroyed?

Hello,

while checking my wordpress site after a couple of days my whole layout ist ‘gone’. I did not need to actualize any plugins and I made no changes at all. I bought the full version of vantage theme a couple of weeks ago and I really do not understand where the mistake is.

I am an absolutely beginner of wordpress and it confuses me a lot because it’s the second time that theme causes trouble. First time I could solve it, but this time I am helpless.

My site:

Thank You for any idea!

    Hi Britta

Sorry to see this problem occur. I’m sure we can assist in getting to the bottom of it.

Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.

If you are using any sort of caching or speed optimization plugin, please, clear that plugin’s cache before deactivating it.

If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.

    Hi Andrew,

thank You for the reply and Your assitance.

Ok, I first disabled all non SiteOrigin Plugins. After that I empty cache.
    Website is still without layout.

Then I switched over to Theme ‘Twenty sixteen’. No menu at all, no headline, no text from circle icons, and site shows categories. Only the two column text below was shown.

Also an error line acured at the end of page:

Warning: Parameter 1 to W3_Plugin_TotalCache::ob_callback() expected to be a reference, value given in /homepages/36/d606180139/htdocs/clickandbuilds/BODYandSOAPStudio/wp-includes/functions.php on line 3464

    Hi Britta

Would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so we can log in and take a look? You can create the account with the following email address:

    [email protected]

Just navigate to UsersAdd New in your WordPress admin. Enter siteorigin for the username and [email protected] for the email address. Make sure you’ve selected Administrator for the role and enabled the Send Password field so we receive the details.

Once we’re finished taking a look, you can delete this account. We’ll let you know when to do that.

I’ve deleted Vantage and re-installed. All seems to be normal now. I’m not sure how, but it looks like the theme was corrupted in some way.

Glad to hear we’ve made some progress :)

I’ve temporarily deactivated W3 Total Cache and the problem which I could also see on the site’s login page has gone away. Perhaps, try using W3 Super Cache instead?

    Thank You so much, Andrew.
W3 Total Cache really seemed to cause the problem.
Thank You for deactivating the plugin. But: how could You know …??

  13. Andrew Misplon Staff 9 years, 10 months ago

No problem :) W3 Total Cache had a file name listed in the error, that’s the reason I checked it.

All the best with your site. If you run into any further challenges, please, let us know.
