Hi,
I have the same exact problem as user…
The website stopped saving. Essentially when using Page Builder to create a page. I add a row then the siteOrgin Editor and when I click on edit to edit inside the widget I add “Test” to the Title and “test” inside the rich area. I click “Done” and I can see my changes but when I click “Update” I lose everything. Old web pages that were previously created with SiteOrgin Page build appear to work when edited. But new pages do not work and won’t save. I’ve been at this all day and I can’t figure it out. I’ve tried every remedy on all of your threads. Any help, please.
The environment is “Multi-Site” – used to work just fine.
The server is Plesk.
Let me know what else I can give you.
Thanks!
Hi Dan
Thanks for reaching out.
There are a number of different ways you could approach troubleshooting an unknown like this. Start by checking to see if a working baseline exists. Please, find those steps below:
Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.
If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.
Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.
If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.
I found the issue. When the plugin “Content Control” in installed it makes your editor fail to save.
Glad to hear you’re making some progress. I’ve installed Content Control, have added a restriction and haven’t been able to recreate the issue.
The final stage of the plugin conflict test would be confirmation. Temporarily deactivate all plugins except for Page Builder and Content Control, does the issue persist?
I see the issue in a SiteOrigin Image Widget, for example, the widget won’t save with Content Control activated. I don’t see any errors in the JavaScript console or the debug.log file. Unfortunately, given the active installs of Content Control, it’s something the authors would need to take a look at if they wanted to achieve compatibility with Page Builder.
Thanks I saw your other response that you see an issue with the image portion of your plugin and content control. I’m not too worried about it as I can live without content control. You may want to consider some sort of error warning about Content Control if your system fails because of that plugin. It may help people in the future. Any sort of debugging message that pops up may help.
Hi Dan, thanks for your feedback. There are other user role plugins you could try if this is necessary functionality on your site. All the best with your site, sorry this slowed you down. If you have any questions in the future, please let us know. Cheers :)
