The Visual Editor is no longer working, when I click “edit” on a section it just shows me all the shortcodes. I installed Classic Editor and no change. I then thought upgrading to WordPress 5.0.2 was the problem so I downgraded to 4.9.8, but again no change. I have a lot of changes I need to make to my existing site and it’s basically impossible with the visual editor not working.
I did inspect in Chrome, and there is a javascript error being thrown, but I do not know how to fix it.
Hi Brittany
Sorry to hear about the problem.
Please do a plugin conflict to try and find the cause of the JavaScript error/s. Temporarily deactivate all non-SiteOrigin plugins and check a page, does the issue persist?
Unfortunately, deactivating all other plugins had no effect. This is what I see:
The only plugins I have active are Black Studio TinyMCE Widget, Classic Editor, and Page Builder by SiteOrigin.
Thanks for trying and for the screenshot.
The shortcodes displayed in the screenshot don’t belong to Page Builder by SiteOrigin or any other SiteOrigin plugin. Most likely the plugin or theme that provided the functionality for these shortcodes is missing or isn’t working correctly.
Which theme are you using?
Did you recently change plugins? Did you perhaps use something like Divi Builder? Your company site is using Divi Builder, is that perhaps the Page Builder missing from this site?
