Visual editor broken

Hello
Visual editor not working
Page builder not working
Here is what I have tried –

1. disabling all plug ins
2. Clearing cache for browser and for wordpress
3. Making sure visual editor is not disabled for me as user.
4. Interestingly, when I DO disable visual editor, page builder loads in text but visual editor still does not load even if page builder is deactivated
5. created a new user, logged in as that user.
6. Changed to one of the recommended neutral themes
7. tried several different browsers

Have a nirvana child theme.

Was thinking I might uninstall and re-install page builder, but do not want to lost pages I already built using it.

Any and all help appreciated.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Collegiate,

Does this issue occur if you temporarily try switching to one of the default WordPress themes? This will rule out a theme issue. Also, can you show me a screenshot of what your visual editor looks like? We’re currently unable to process attachments so you’ll need to upload the screenshot to a third party image hosting site like Imgur or vgy.me.

Thanks alex – I already tried that
It turned out it was a javascript error, my website guru fixed it for me. Have a great day!

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Peggy,

Was the JavaScript error with one of our plugins or was it related to something else? If the error was with our JavaScript, can you please elaborate on what the guru did to fix this issue?

    From my Site guru-

    Hi Peggy,

I think you were right about the javascript error. It looks like WordPress was combining multiple javascript files into one file which may have caused a conflict somewhere. I changed a setting to not combine them, and now it appears to be working.

I checked it and the visual editor now appears to be working normally!

    Hope this helps

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Peggy,

Thank you for the reply. That’s a semi-common WordPress update issue. No idea why it happens but the fix your guru came up with is the correct solution.
