Video player widget stopped working

5 years ago · Last reply by Andrew Misplon 5 years ago

HI
I have been using the siteorgin video player widget for a long time without issue.
I use the url function to link to facebook videos.
This week whenever I try to put in the url as per usual it comes up with the following error message:

Sorry, we can’t load the video at the supplied URL. Please check that the URL is for a supported video file (.mp4, .m4v, .webm, .ogv, .flv) or stream (e.g. YouTube and Vimeo).

I have gone back and looked at previous blog posts with videos that were once linking and working fine and they are now all gone.

Can you tell me what might have happened/how to fix it.
thanks!

    Hi, thanks for reaching out.

Does the issue persist if you use the Editor widget to insert the video via the Add Media button?

    Hi,
    Thanks for your reply.
Do you mean add media in the text box widget? If that is so then it sort of works…I can put the link to the video but of course, it does not come up with the video box in the blog post for people to view, it’s just clickable text which is not really ideal.
Any further advice/thoughts on this would be great.
    Thanks

Thanks for the feedback. My overall question would be, is this an issue with the video format or the widget? Can you replicate this issue by inserting the video on a non-Page Builder page for example?

If you could also perhaps send a link to the video in the Media Library, we could take a look and test locally. Thanks.
