(Video Player Widget) Control Elements not loading after loading

hello, we are using Video Player Widget to manage our Video courses. and we have a lot of them on our website.

Since the last update the Video Controls such as Play, Volume etc. are not showing in the frontend. The Video is loaded and can be played via Right-click (tested in chrome), but the normal user would expect a play button to start the video instead of right-clicking on it.

Funny thing is: If we insert the videos via Editor Widget (and >Add Media), the videos are shown as expected.

Is this a bug? And if no, how can we set the Video Player Widget to show the Controls?
It would be a mess if we had to replace 95 Videos on our Website manually.
