How come the Video Player in Page Builder allows for only one source of video, which forces us to use mp4 to make sure all users can see the video in the browsers?

I have to use a video for which the mp4 file is 10.9 MB, while the webm file is just 1.3 MB. That’s a huge difference. And it’s too bad that most users have to pay the price just because of those who need the mp4 file, while they could be getting a much faster download speed if multiple file sources could be selected :(

    Hi Slacle,

That’s actually a good point. I’ve submitted this as a feature request.

    Hi Slacle,

I’ve been informed that this is the case. You should assign the video backgrounds in desired order of preference. That way, if you prefer for the webm (and it’s supported) to be displayed over the mp4 it’ll be loaded and the mp4 won’t be. Does this make sense?

Ah really? It doesn’t say so on the plug-in where you select the video though. I guess they just have to be separated by comas then?

    Hi Slacle,

Oh… awkward. I misread your post and thought you were talking about the hero widget. Well, I feel extremely silly and I stand corrected. This doesn’t seem to be the case. I’m extremely sorry for any frustration I’ve caused you.

With that said, I’ve updated the previous feature request to reflect this.

Once again, I’m very sorry about this.
