Video on Vantage

Hi, I’ve put a small video on my front page by the Video Widget. Unfortunately the screen is black with i white play symbol when you look at it on the page. Is it possible somehow to show a picture from the video instead the black picture?

    Hi Ole999,

    Do you have a public URL where we can take a look at your setup? To be honest, this is likely unavoidable without manually adding the video with HTML.

    Can you please add a video to a test page and link me to it so I can inspect the results? I ask because unfortunately I really need to inspect the issue itself to work out why this is happening.

    I can’t seem to replicate what you’re seeing. This is the thumbnail I see:

    Can you please clarify what device and browser you’re testing with and what you see? Please note that we’re currently unable to process attachments so you’ll need to upload the image to a third party image hosting site like Imgur or vgy.me.

    Thanks Alex – I found out what the problem is. I didn’t figure it out before. It is in Apples Safari browser the issue shows. On Google and Explorer there are no problems …

    Hi Alex – the attachement is not nessesary, it’s just a black screen with the play-symbol in white … what matters is that it’s in Safari the appearence is wrong …

    Hi Ole999,

    Thanks. We’ve run a few tests and I think this is likely an issue with Media Elements (the video player WordPress uses). Please add a SiteOrigin Video Player (the widget you’re currently using is the Standard WordPress video widget) and readd the video. How does that look?

    Hi Ole999,

    I’m not too sure I understand. Are you saying you don’t have the SiteOrigin Video Player widget? If so, please install the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle and navigate to WP AdminPluginsSiteOrigin Widgets to activate it.

    If that’s not what you’re saying, can you please elaborate? Sorry about this!

    Alex – I have the package but I hadn’t activated the video player. Sorry.

    Now it looks perfect.
