Video link not working

I’ve been trying to get a video link to play but it always shows a broken link.

I’ve tried adding it through media/insert url, & visual editor, & the Youtube plugin, & SiteOrigin video player, but it’s not working. It shows in the editor but it’s always broken after updating the page and viewing it. I’ve also tried turning off other plugins but that didn’t make any difference. Could it be a setting issue somewhere? I’m a newbie, so be gentle. :)

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Sfort,

To clarify, what are URL are you using?

Do you have a public URL where we can take a look at what’s going on? If you need to keep this URL private from other users, just select “Private Reply” on the bottom right of the comment box.

    Hi Alex,
Thank you for getting back to me.

The following is the last one I’ve tried. https://youtu.be/BNjF1bf6poo

I’ve had to replace the video with an image since it wouldn’t work but I can put it back in if you need to see what is happening? Let me know.

    Thanks,
    Steve

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Steve,

I’m not having any issues with that URL. :(

Would it be possible for you to send me an export for this widget? To do this open up the page with the widget and click layout. Then click import / export and then click download. Please upload the export to a 3rd party file hosting site such as teknik.io.

Also, can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.

If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Steve,

Based on your page, you look to have a plugin conflict. I would highly recommend running the aforementioned plugin conflict test.

    Hi Alex,

I’ve already tried turning off all non-Siteorigin plugins and that didn’t change anything… but I didn’t clear my caches, so will try that.

I’m using a custom Cloudpress theme so will try switching to a default to test.

If that doesn’t change anything will send a widget export.

    Hi Sfort,

Did the plugin conflict test produce any results?

    Will try it again today.

    Hi Alex,

Ok, found it… the Lazy Load plugin that makes the site load faster was the culprit. Clearing my cache after turning it off worked.

Thanks so much for you help!

    Steve
