I have been having trouble when self hosting an mp4 for use with the video player widget.
My file name will for some reason change to look like filname.mp4 to change to filename-1.mp4 even though I have merely uploaded it once. i thought maybe my hosting had timed out or had a problem so I actually upgraded the capabilities of my hosting plan. Still seeing two files upload into the file manager.
I am uploading both directly into the WP media library and also uploading using the video player widget but both return the same result. This does not affect all of my videos. File size is usually under 400mg. Max set on Wp to 850Meg on an upload.

Hi, thanks for reaching out.
WordPress adds the
-1
suffix when the filename in question is already present in the uploads folder. If your uploads folder is organized into years and months then the same file name has to be present in the folder for the current month for this to happen. I’m, unfortunately, unsure why you’re seeing two uploads, I’m also not finding anything helpful when searching this issue. This is most likely a core WordPress issue, if you deactivate all SiteOrigin plugins, the issue will most likely continue. You could perhaps try posting on the WordPress.org forums: https://wordpress.org/support/forum/miscellaneous/. Sorry, I don’t have better news.
