Is there a way to upload more than one video type in the PageBuilder widget, SiteOrigin Slider. I uploaded a video in the widget as an .mp4, but there are browser compatibility issues for Firefox and some mobile devices. I’d like to upload other video types, .ogv and .webm to accommodate the browser types without having multiple videos show when uploaded if the browser supports multiple video types. Thank you!

Hi Kblaszkiewicz
Thanks for reaching out.
Videos aren’t able to autoplay on mobile so video backgrounds are replaced with the background image if one is added, as a fallback. That said, the slider should be able to handle other video formats for desktop. If there is a specific video you’re having a problem with, please, send us a link to the video and we’ll try it locally.
Hi Andrew,
Thank you for your response. I’ve uploaded a jpeg with the videos as a fallback. It works well in all browsers.
I did find if I rotate my screen for mobile the video will play in a light box!
The video is in an mp4 format. It can be found at http://www.patrocinium.com. The link embedded in the code is http://www.patrocinium.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/U.S.-Test-incident_3.mp4. I did some research into why the video won’t play in Firefox. mp4s have a known incompatibility issue with Firefox, so I was hoping to upload an .ogv video file in the page builder SiteOrigin Slider widget. If I upload a second video in the slider widget, they both show in some browsers.
Thank you for taking the time to help me with this problem.
Have a great day!
Thanks for your feedback. Hopefully, I’ve understood your message properly. I did a quick test using a OGV video (self-hosted) and the Slider widget seems to display it well. It works in both Chrome and Firefox. Have you tried replacing your MP4 video with the OGV copy?
(Your video does seem to play normally in OS X in Chrome and Firefox, on my local machine at least.)
Hi Andrew,
Thank you for your response. I have not tried switching the video format to only the .ogv video. I will try that. Thanks for testing out the video on your browsers!
For sure :) Let us know how it goes.
