hi there, client wanted to add a video background to their siteorigin homepage, which we did via the built-in ‘video background’ element on a row. all working, but on Edge and older IE *occasionally* the video doesn’t fill to full screen width – we get narrow blue strips down either side, usually when using the back button to return to the homepage. (this even happens if we replace the MP4 with a gif image)
i appreciate it may be hard to replicate as it’s ‘occasional’, but does anyone have any suggestions for a fix for this? i also know that Edge and IE users are small audiences, but their MD is using IE!!
we tried adding
.sow-background-element {
margin: 0 !important;
padding: 0 !important;
left: 0 !important;
}
btw we’re using themetrust’s Create theme https://themetrust.com/wordpress-themes/create/
any help gratefully accepted!
thanks
Hi Chris
Thanks for reaching out.
Please, could you try and isolate how the video background setting is being added. The setting, unfortunately, isn’t ours. Do you perhaps have the following plugin installed https://wordpress.org/plugins/video-backgrounds-for-siteorigin-page-builder/ or is the setting added by Create?
ah – ok i’ll contact the theme guys – sorry i thought it was built into siteorigin core, but it must be the theme adding the video ability.
No problem at all. Hopefully, ThemeTrust can assist. If any SiteOrigin questions arise, please, let us know.
Cheers for now.
