The video background that I’m trying to add via .mp4 link either spreads across all rows or doesn’t show up at all. We are supposed to be able to add a video background through each element. Can someone explain what’s going wrong?
Hi Haskins,
Do you have a public URL where we can take a look at your Hero widget? This should hopefully allow me to tell you what’s going wrong.
Yes, please. council2018.wpengine.com
Hi,
I’ve had a look around your website and I can’t seem to find any usage of videos. Can you please link me to a page I can inspect? If you don’t have an example, can you please create a test page where I can inspect your videos?
That is correct, the video isn’t in there because it was breaking the site. It was supposed to go in the background of the hero area on the main page. Per site origin, we’re supposed to be able to place a background video .mp4 or youtube link in the background of the row. Then, we can add widgets on top of the video. However, something in site origin is not allowing the video to stay in the row… it’s extending throughout the site and breaking the site.
Hi,
To clarify, are you adding the video to a slider? I ask as we only natively support background videos added to those widgets. We don’t give you the option to directly add the video to the row outside of a widget so you would need to use a plugin to be able to add background video support. Plugins such as:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/video-background/
https://wordpress.org/plugins/video-backgrounds-for-siteorigin-page-builder/
If you’re not using a slider, are you using either of those two plugins (or may even a different plugin) to add the video?
Regardless, can you please create a basic text page with an example of the video background so I can inspect this issue?
