Velocity

Hi, I contact you because I think you can help me although the issue is not directly related to the theme.
I tried to Google Page Spedd Insights in order to improve the velocity of the site and one of the observations is the following:

Consider Fixing:

Eliminate render-blocking JavaScript and CSS in above-the-fold content

Your page has 3 blocking script resources and 4 blocking CSS resources. This causes a delay in rendering your page.
None of the above-the-fold content on your page could be rendered without waiting for the following resources to load. Try to defer or asynchronously load blocking resources, or inline the critical portions of those resources directly in the HTML.
Remove render-blocking JavaScript:

http://www.spotcontenidos.com/…s/jquery/jquery-migrate.min.js?ver=1.2.1

Optimize CSS Delivery of the following:

Home

I was looking for data on the web for getting a solution but I haven’t find yet.
Do you know a plugin to be applied to vantage theme to solve it? or, what I should do to solve it.

If you check me site you can see that at the beginning the first image of the slider is shown smaller (maybe due to the responsive design). After a few seconds the slider cover all the width of the screen. Could it be related to the problem mention above?

Thank you!
Laura

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Laura

    Thanks for the wait.

WP Fastest Cache is a good place to start improving load time. Once setup, it’ll take care of most of these requirements.

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-fastest-cache/

The slider issue you mentioned isn’t related to this. That happens as the slider data stretch is applied.

    Hope the plugin helps.

Hi Andrew! thank you for your answer.

Related to google page insights, i have WP Super cache installed, fastest cache is better than Super cache?

About ther slider, i do not have applied the streach option and the slide appears as i told you . If i applied it, the first image is moved to the left and the blank space appears on the right for a little seconds, I understand it is for the resizing.. Question, could it be solve if i set images that have more than 1080 px of width or do you thing it will be the same?

i have other question related to the mobile navigation menu. In desktop mode I changed the order of the menu moving it to the right. For that, I change ccs style, float to right, and in desktop wordpress option i changed the order of the menu. For desktop it it ok but when i see my site on me cellphone, the order of the menu does not change. Could i change it? because i cannot find the ccs sentence to do it.

An the last question!! I am looking for a trusted hosting provider because I have one I am not satisfied with the service. Currently I have Hostinger and it has a very bad service. As you are an expert, could you recommend me one that has a good service for wordpress? I’d like it has live chat and the possibility to call by phone, hangouts or skype if i need to do it.

    Thanks!

    Hi, I Work Here

WP Super Cache is perfect. No need to change that.

The slider is set to 100%, even without the stretch option applied I do see this behaviour in other themes. You can perhaps try Nivo or one of the other sliders and see if you get a different result. On a very fast connection you shouldn’t see the jump. Try another theme though, see how that goes.

If you changed the order of your menu items from Appearance > Menus then that should be reflecting in the mobile menu. If it’s not, please try clearing the cache in WP Super Cache.

Hosting is a tough call, there are lots of options. Everyone will have their preferred provider. I’ve just moved several sites over to Pair Networks (http://www.pair.com/). It could be the time of day I’ve contacted them but so far I’ve been receiving very quick email replies to support queries. Usually under 30mins. Greg has hosted sites with Pair for a long time and they’ve always proven reliable. If you do try them out, they have a long refund period if you’re un-happy. Also, when you signup, try the coupon code REFUGEE as that might get a saving.

    * The above advice wasn’t paid for by Pair. Just based on a recent personal experience :)
