Recently, my sites have been updated to use the theme Vantage v1.8.1 by SiteOrigin. When this happened, all buttons that are created by the theme, rather than created using the SiteOrigin widgets, ceased to allow differences in background colors to the button, as dictated by the theme settings.
This is an issue on the blog roll, where “Read More” buttons are included, or additional page buttons are revealed at the bottom of the screens. These buttons are all dictated by the theme itself. With previous versions of Vantage, full control was given to the background of the buttons. In the latest version v1.8.1, only the text color can be controlled.
Please advise, as currently all buttons on my sites (multiple sites) have the light gray background that can’t be changed to match the rest of the color theme. (Buttons are difficult to see.)
Just to test to ensure that it was the update on the theme itself, I run an update on one site this morning that was running v1.7.11 of the Vantage theme. The buttons appeared as they should. I ran an update of the theme ONLY, going to v1.8.1, and the buttons suddenly became gray background with no ability to change the color. What has happened?
Hi, sorry for the hassle. We’ve just released an update, it should be available in your WordPress admin in the next 15-30mins. Please, give it a try and let us know how it goes. Sorry again for the hassle, we were fixing an issue with the Site Title font size and caused another issue which you ran into, both should now be fixed.
Thank you! V1.8.2 fixes the issue described in the post. I’m all happy again, and looking forward to see what new features I get to play with.
Thanks for your understanding, it’s most appreciated. The changelog is here: https://github.com/siteorigin/vantage/releases. Unfortunately, no features at the moment, just small refinements and edge case bug fixes. Don’t mean to disappoint.
