Hi Andrew, Hope all is well.

I notice updates to do with …
”Some of your translations are out of date.”

Is there any danger updating those Translations – do I need to do a new back up beforehand ?

    Hi Seamus,

    As a rule of thumb it advised to always have a complete backup of your site in your hard drive. It is always good to have the latest updates but if it is not affecting anything on your site, there is no harm at all to leave it as it is.

    Thanks Addo, understood as a norm of course – I have a back up a few weeks ago – but just wondering if there was any specific danger with Translation updates aside from WordPress version updates you see? Thanks

    Good to hear from you.

    I’m not quite following. Are you referring to the vantage.pot file and the translation strings contained therein?

    Likew2ise Andrew, hike all’s well.

    I update plug-ins as they appear but I have not seen translation upgrades before and Just noticed that I have 1 update in the WP-admin.
    It reads ””Some of your translations are out of date.””
    Before I pull the rigger and simply update , just wondering if the ‘translations updates’ carry the same caveat as the WordPress version upgrades … we did back up as there was a warning with the WordPress version upgrade U c.

    Thanks, just doing some reading on that core notification as I haven’t seen it before. Are there any specifics on which translations are out of date?

    Translations refer to language files. If you’re not translating the site into other languages then there shouldn’t be any issues with this and I’d recommend updating.

    No option to view the breakdown – only option is to update from this care screw.
