Vantage Theme, Page Builder and Widget Bundle not updating

By chubakka, 8 years ago. Last reply by Alex S, 8 years ago.

Sorry not sure if this is the right thing to do, starting a whole new thread for my problem but here goes:

Getting this message

Warning: require_once(D:Hosting9181676htmlwp-contentpluginssiteorigin-panels/widgets/migration.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in D:Hosting9181676htmlwp-contentpluginssiteorigin-panelssiteorigin-panels.php on line 26

at the top of the page when I attempt to activate the plugin “Page Builder”, and bot Site Origin plugins are refusing to update.

Vantage version 1.4.4 and WordPress version 4.4.2

Have been confounded with this problem for over a month now at least. Any support or hints would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Chubakka,

I would recommend removing the plugins manually via FTP and then reinstalling the plugins.

Hello Alex S, thanks so much for the reply and advice.

I understand about removing plugins (manually) I believe, but I’m confused by the “via FTP” part.

What exactly does this (via FTP) mean? Is it something I need to worry about or should I simply go ahead and remove (the plugins) and reinstall?

Also, does this apply only to site origin plugins or all of them?

I’ll wait for your reply before doing anything.

    Thanks again for your help.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Chubakka,

Sorry, I was under the impression you weren’t able to uninstall the plugins with WordPress. You only need to delete, and then reinstall the SiteOrigin Page Builder Plugin (read: Panels).

    Hi Alex S,

I’ve attempted to delete (uninstall?) the site origin plugins though wordpress but I was not successful – I’m given the options to “Yes, delete these files” or “No, return to plugin list” however when I click “Yes” I’m returned to the installed plugin list, “Page Builder” still on the list and installed.

I hope this description is clear enough to understand.

How should I proceed to uninstall the Site Origin plugins so I can follow your suggestion to reinstall?

    Thanks for your time.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Chubakka,

Okay so yeah, you’ll need to remove it directly by using FTP. If you’re not sure how to do that I would recommend contacting your host. Make a reference to: Changing File Permissions

    Hello again Alex S,

I’ve been in contact with my hosting service, and I believe I understand how to access the plugins via the hosting service site – not sure if this is “FTP” or not however.

I believe I can tick the boxes for each SiteOrigin plugin, (page builder and widgets bundle “page builder appears under a slightly different name like “site origin PANELS or something) and delete the plugins – the hosting custormer service rep however expressed concern about whether I needed to delete the plugins completely or not – this is what this message is about.

Should I be attempting to completely delete the plugins before proceeding to reinstall them?

Thanks again for your time Alex S.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Chubakka,

Your previous post suggests you’ve already tried that. Is that not the case? If it’s not, yeah do that. If not, say you’ve tried that but am unable to do so due to a permission issue.

The previous name of the plugin was SiteOrigin Panels. Since we changed focus with the plugin to more of a page builder, we changed the name. You don’t actually need to do anything with the Widgets bundle – you can leave that one as is.

Okay, to clarify, it’s not that you need to delete the plugin. You just need to redownload all of the files because one is missing. With that said, to do this in WordPress you need to deactivate the plugin, and then delete it. I guess the term reinstall wasn’t really the correct term. I should have used something like, remove and then re-add the plugin or something like that.

Let me know if this helps.
