Vantage theme: overlapping header only on homepage

Hi!
i have a problem with Vantage free theme.

On the homepage my header is transparent and overlaps the SmartSlider. This is ok but i need this only on the homepage.

The header overlaps contents also on every other page…so how can i do to see my contents (for example an hero image) below the header?

I hope my question is clear, sorry for the weak english!
