I am trying to play YouTube videos (which display and play fine aside from this issue), but when full screen mode is selected, it says the browser doesn’t allow it (this is on a page using the Vantage Theme). I can use the same widget, same video, and same browser but with a different theme and the full screen mode works fine. So it seems this has to do with the Vantage theme itself. Running with PageBuilder, SiteOrigin CSS, MetaSlider, WOOCommerce and Jetpack.
Is there a fix for this?
Hi Rdthomasjr
Do you have a public URL where we can take a look at what’s going on? If you need to keep this URL private from other users, just select “Private Reply” on the bottom right of the comment box.
This is a private message.
Thanks. Have you tested using the Visual Editor or SiteOrigin Editor widget instead of the SiteOrigin Video widget?
Full screen works fine in OS X Chrome too.
I just inserted an iframe embedded player at the bottom of that page (into a SiteOrigin Editor). Same problem.
Thanks for your feedback. I’m unable to test in IE11 at the moment. I’ll ask one of our developers to take a look ASAP.
Sure would be nice if you guys came up with a solution. It’s been over a month now!
Hi Rdthomasjr,
Sorry for the delay in support. I’ve taken a look at the link you provided and it doesn’t seem to showcase the issue. Do you have a more update URL that I can check?
Sorry, it’s been relocated to http://clooz.com/videos/
Issue only occurs with IE 11 and the Vantage theme (premium; Windows 10).
Hi Rdthomasjr,
Thank you for the updated link. I’ve checked the video and it seems YouTube doesn’t allow full screen in IE11. The below image contains a link that links to this page, Fullscreen is disabled.
That’s just not true. My testing with other themes had it working fine (IE 11 in full screen from You Tube). IE 11 doesn’t support full screen only with the Vantage theme. Vantage is doing something that causes a conflict.
Hi Rdthomasjr,
I’ve logged this as a potential bug in our issue tracker. We’ll investigate this as soon as possible and try to come up with a fix.
Thanks. Just make sure it’s understood this is a specific conflict with IE 11. Other browsers don’t show the impact when Vantage is the theme.
Hi Rdthomasjr,
Consider it noted. Thank you for pointing this issue out, and correcting my assumption. Is there anything else I can help you with today?
That all there is. Please come up with a fix. Hard to image what Vantage is doing that causes IE 11 to react that way. I’ve wondered if it is related to security settings, but couldn’t identify anything myself. I’m new to WordPress, so I don’t have a good feel for what is going on behind the scenes in the embedded code that gets sent to the client. You guys will need to replicate the issue on your own system so you can better diagnose it.
