Vantage theme is causing http error when uploading images

Hi,

I have contacted my hosting company and we went through all the troubleshooting on wordpress to single out the issue with my media uploader. The issue that we found is the VANTAGE theme being the cause.

As soon as we switched to a default theme on wordpress I was able to upload images – both small and large. However, as soon as we activated the Vantage theme, my media uploader stopped working and showed the “http error.” for several images i tried uploading.

Can someone please provide a solution to this problem I am at wits end :'( this is so frustrating!!!!

P.S. I am a complete beginner with coding – I know almost nothing about it all..

So if the solution requires adjusting, adding, subtracting a code, please provide STEP BY STEP instructions – really appreciate it!

Tamara

    Hi Tamara

Can you please re-run the test but this time with Vantage and only SiteOrigin plugins activated. Go to Plugins and in one go, de-activate all plugins not made by SiteOrigin and re-test.

    Thanks

(Here is a good run through on fixing this error: http://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-fix-image-upload-issue-in-wordpress/)

    Hi Andrew,

Yes I’ve tried that and its only when I have the Vantage theme activated does the media uploader not work.

The only temporary solution is to activate one of the wordpress default themes whenever I need to upload images and then when im done i reactivate the Vantage theme.

    ..It gets annoying.

    What else do you suggest?

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Justeatorganic

Would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so we can log in and take a look? You can create the account with the following email address:

    [email protected]

Just navigate to Users > Add New in your WordPress admin. Enter siteorigin for the username and [email protected] for the email address. Make sure you’ve selected Administrator for the role and enabled the “Send Password” field so we receive the details.

Once we’re finished taking a look, you can delete this account. We’ll let you know when to do that.

    Hi, I Work Here

I don’t seem to get any errors. Here is a new image inserted into a test page:

I’m using Chrome. Perhaps a browser related challenge? Not sure…

Thats exactly what my hosting company said. They had no problem from their end. However, from my end I cannot use the media uploader on internet explorer, firefox or chrome while vantage is activated.

    Its so strange…..

    Hi, I Work Here

Have you tried clearing your browser cache in Chrome?
Have you tried on another computer?

    Thanks

I just tried to upload after clearing the browsing cache in chrome, still no luck.

No i havent tried on another computer.. I’ll have to try tomorrow (its 12:27AM here) and i’ll post back here when I find out the result.
