Hi there
There is a notification of a theme update with this warning:
Please Note: Any customisations you have made to theme files will be lost. Please consider using child themes for modifications.
Please clarify if this affects any customisations made under SiteOrigin CCS?
Will theses be lost with the update?
Thanks in advance!
Viv
Hi Viv
Thanks for reaching out.
All WordPress theme completely overwrite their own folder during theme updates. This means that if you’ve ever modified a theme file, at a code level, via Appearance > Editor or other means, those changes will be lost on update. Pages, posts, theme settings, Customizer settings, plugin settings (including SO CSS) are all stored in the database and safe.
Hope this helps :)
Hi Andrew, thanks a stack for your help!
I have only made changes via Appearance > Custom CSS and Appearance > Customise.
Never via Appearance > Editor.
So, all should be safe then? ;)
Thanks
Viv
You’re all good to go :)
After running the update, please, go to Appearance > Theme Settings > Layout where you’ll find a new setting called:
Force Page Builder Styles Full Width
Disable that setting.
Thanks
Thanks Andrew, will do. Have a geat weekend!! :)
For sure :) You too. All the best.
