Hi,
I am using Vantage Premium Theme, not sure why but intermittently since I tired to update my SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle Plugin I have been having this problem. (it took me a few tries to successfully update the plugin, now it is up to date, and the Vantage theme is up to date and I am using a child theme)
My home page has been intermittently displaying “Your latest posts” (with the metaslider showing the default vantage images) instead of “A static page” set to my home page, I even had to go in a few times to re-save it to “A static page” (here: Appearance => Customize=> Static Front Page). The problem is intermittent and sometimes if you select another menu item it resolves itself. I have deleted the cache in wordpress, as well in my browser. If you click the logo in the header it displays “Your latest posts” but if you click home in the menu it displays correctly. Would you have any insight on why this might be happening? Any help would be great it is becoming frustrating.

Hi Mary
Sorry to hear about the hassle. It is possible that WP Super Cache was involved in the problem. I clicked around a bit now and wasn’t able to replicate. Could you perhaps take another look tomorrow or today, which ever is most applicable and let me know if the issue is still coming up.
No posts on your home page relates to Settings > Reading > Front page displays: Your Latest Posts. Perhaps it was originally saved to that and you were seeing a cached version. A big leap I know! Just guessing at this point.
Chat tomorrow :) (we’re at GMT+2).
Thanks Andrew,
Seems to be ok now, also I forgot to mention the sidebar on the home page disappeared after the update is this normal? Could you give me the steps on how to get it back?
Thank you for your time,
Mary
Hi Mary
Sorry to hear about the hassle. Go to Pages > Home and set the page drop down menu in the right column to Default, that should resolve the problem. This will unfortunately happen if you save your home page from Appearance > Home Page. Appearance > Home Page “save” will reset the page template back to Page Builder Home which doesn’t display the sidebar. We’re aware of this little bug and will try resolve in an update soon.
Thanks Andrew,
That resolved, the homepage sidebar issue, thanks so much for the quick response and resolution :)
Have a great day,
Mary
Glad we could help :)
All the best with your site.
