Vantage Premium – homepage not displaying properly after theme update

Hello,

I updated the theme and page builder plugin for Vantage Premium today for the website www.gctools.se. Also note, I’m using WPML plugin to provide the site in both Swedish and English.

Both the English and Swedish home pages are now displaying improperly. It’s as though the width of the page has been blown out to be 2 or 3 times as wide as the screen.

Something I’ve noticed is that there’s a little toggle switch next to the title ‘Custom Home Page’ at the top of the page editor and it’s in the ‘off’ position. I’ve tried sliding it to On and when I save the page it always reverts back to off. I’m not sure if this is causing any kind of challenge, as I see that it’s in the ‘on’ position on another site that I am using the theme for too.

Do you have any suggestions for how to fix this?

Thanks,
Rachel

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Rachel

This sounds like it could be a plugin conflict. Would it be possible for you to disable all non-SiteOrigin plugins to see if this fixes the issue? If it does fix things, you can reenable your plugins one by one to see which plugin was causing the problem.

If you’d like me to take a look, please create a temporary admin account for the email [email protected].

Disabling plugins didn’t resolve the issue. I’ve just set up a temporary admin account, and the login details should have been sent to your email address. Thanks for the help!

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Rachel

I’ve managed to figure out what was wrong here. There’s a conflict between Page Builder and Vantage. We originally built Vantage for version 1 of our Page Builder plugin and we’ve had to make everything compatible with version 2. This is where the problem is coming in.

It seems like setting the row padding for a row while using Vantage causes problems. I’ve removed the row padding for each of your rows on this page (they were all set to 0), and everything seems to be displaying properly again.

I’ve logged this issue in our system. We’ll try fix it in the next update. Very sorry about that.

    Hi Greg,

Thanks for fixing this. Can you please share with me how you removed the row padding for each of the rows? I need to fix the Swedish homepage too. And, I use your theme for another site that I built in a similar way, so will likely have to make the same changes when I update that site’s theme and plugin too.

    Best,
    Rachel

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Rachel

Thanks for the wait. What Greg most likely did is edit each row by clicking the wrench icon at the end of the row > Edit Row > Layout under the Layout tab is a Padding setting, if a “0” was set there he would have removed it.

    Hope that helps.

    Hi Andrew,

I’ve just gone into the Swedish homepage at http://www.gctools.se/sv and checked the padding as you described. It was blank in each row, and so this isn’t how I can resolve the issue. This site becomes our primary site by the end of the week as our other domain is expiring, so I’m hoping I can learn how to fix this so it’s ready to go.

Can you please advise a next step?

    Thanks,
    Rachel

Is there an ETA on when I’ll be able to get some help on this query? The homepage at http://www.gctools.se/sv still looks terrible. I don’t know how to fix it and need to get this resolved ASAP.

    Hi, I Work Here

Apologies again. I selected the Swedish translation of the home page from Pages > and removed the zero padding row figure there again. Everything should now be back to normal. Please let us know after you’ve taken a look. Thanks
