Hi,
I’m trying to create a child theme for Vantage Premium. The code in the child’s style.css is:
/*
Theme Name: Vantage Child
Author: SiteOrgin
Template: vantage
Version: 1.0.0
*/
@import url(“../vantage/style.css”);
/* =Theme customization starts here
It’s in the folder /wp-content/themes/vantage-child
When I try to activate it in Appearance>Themes it’s not there.
Thanks
Hi Peter
Your child theme’s CSS looks correct so it should be there.
If you’re just editing CSS you don’t need a child theme and could use Appearance > Custom CSS. Here is our tutorial on that: https://siteorigin.com/basics/modifying-theme-design-with-custom-css/.
If you’d like to get the child theme working, ZIP it and send through a copy to [email protected] and we’ll take a look.
Thanks, but won’t I lose changes when I update if I just use Appearance > Custom CSS ?
What, exactly, is it that you want me to ZIP and send?
If it’s just CSS that you’d like to edit then Appearance > Custom CSS is perfect. Code saved there won’t be lost during theme updates.
Thanks Andrew, It is helpful for me as well..
Hi @kelvinbell, glad this thread helped :) All the best.
