I think I may have inadvertently modified a setting which now causes the left side menu of my Vantage installation to not display. As a result, I can no longer login, open the dashboard, or continuing making edits. I have not yet completed my site edits and it is not yet ready for hosting. I am currently building it on localhost. I was making strong progress until I discovered this mistake. Please help me if you can
Hi Steven
So to confirm, when you login you can’t see the main left WordPress menu?
De-activating all your plugins might be a good place to start:
http://www.wpbeginner.com/plugins/how-to-deactivate-all-plugins-when-not-able-to-access-wp-admin/
Thank you Andrew. I cannot login at all. My site loads but all of the links on the left such as the login prompt, WP links etc. do not show. Should I proceed with deactivating/reactivating the plugins?
I tried renaming the plugins folder. It had no affect when I loaded my site to the localhost. The site loads and functions but I cannot login or reach the dashboard.
Do you know what you changed when this happened?
I am not sure exactly what caused this but I may have been unchecking some of the boxes related to menu settings in Vantage
Vantage shouldn’t impact what you’re seeing in the WordPress admin. To confirm whether Vantage is to blame head to wp-content/themes and delete the Vantage folder. Your installation will default to another theme.
I think I can get to the login and subsequently to the dashboard. What should I do to reload Vantage?
Re-install from Appearance > Themes > Add New: search for Vantage, then upgrade from Appearance > Premium Upgrade by clicking Already Paid? top right.
Or manual installation instructions found in your order email.
Thanks
It works! I really like the flexibility of Vantage! Thanks Andrew
Super, glad that helped.
