Hello,
I’m currently trying to add a menu icon to my website for the blog navigation menu item, which in font awesome is listed as fa-newspaper-o, however in the dropdown menu in vantage I can not seem to find that icon! :(
It appears to be the only one which remotely fits the purpose of indicating a blog, and it looks really odd when that one menu item has no icon. Can we get an update to vantage to include this? Or perhaps it’s already included, I just need to implement it via a sneaky text-input which is hidden, somewhere?
Thanks,
Adam
Yes, I just confirmed….
My page currently seems to be loading Font Awesome 4.1, but I need it to load Font Awesome 4.2….
I went into the theme’s settings, and found that… Font Awesome 3.2.1 is what’s supposed to be loaded (erhh?). How do I go about changing this to FontAwesome 4.2 without breaking anything?
Hi Adam
Thanks for reaching out.
We’ll hopefully upgrade Font Awesome soon, there are some legacy issues holding the upgrade back.
In the mean time you’d need to use a child theme, remove the current Font Awesome and then register the new version.
Here is a child theme you can use:
https://siteorigin.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/vantage-child-fa-4.0.3.zip
Install the ZIP from Appearance > Themes > Add New: Upload Theme
Test, if it works then redo Customizer, Menu and Widget settings, a normal effect of activating a child theme.
