Vantage Issues

Hello, I am having a couple problems with my home page on the vantage theme. The first being, I am trying to align three buttons across the page on three separate widgets, but no matter how many times I edit one of the widgets, the bottom will not seem to move, its very strange. The buttons also become unaligned if I change the size of my browser window.

I have two similar rows, as I am trying to see which style I like better, but I am having the button alignment issue in both rows.

I am also trying to get rid of the white space between the bottom row of the home page and the footer.

Last of all, I would like to add a phone number to the top menu bar but have not found a good way to do it yet.

Thank you for your help!

Ok, I have been able to resolve some of the issues. Still wondering the best way to put a phone number into the menu bar at the top and also trying to figure out how to lessen the space between my lowest row, (just above the footer) and the row above it…

    Thank you

And now another issue, the metaslider is randomly putting a gray bar along the bottom of some of my slides. Please help me!

Ok, figured out the slider thing but still having the following issue:

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi dbvantage

Glad to hear you’ve been making progress.

One way of handling the phone number challenge might be to add a Custom Link item to your menu from Appearance > Menus. Once the link has been added you can leave the URL field blank OR if you want to make the link make a call you could use the format:

    tel:+0000000000

The number needs to be international format for that to work.

    Hi, I Work Here

To help reduce space on your second last row, edit the row, click Layout and check the Padding field. I think you have 60 there now, change the value to:

    60 60 0 60

    top, right, bottom, left.

Finally, check the last Text widget in the right column, there are a series of empty paragraphs there causing the extra space.

Thank you, that was very helpful! I believe it was that extra space in the text widget that was causing the spacing issue.

I am wondering if there is a way to make the video in the bottom right fill the entire right side of the gray shaded area, like a block. I am hoping to have the video take up half of that entire row, with no space around it if possible…

Also, is there a way to set the slides in the metaslider so that is does not zoom in on them? I have them set at 1080×420 which is the size of the slides/pictures themselves, but for some reason it always seems to zoom-in on them a bit.

Thank you for your time and help, it is most appreciated!

    Hi, I Work Here

Glad to hear you’ve made progress.

You can go to Theme Settings > Home and disable slider stretch. You can then go to Meta Slider > Advanced and turn on 100% width. The two represent different ways to handle the full width slider. The screen width is always unknown so one of the two methods needs to be used.

If you send a set of login details I can try help with the video. It’s not easily done though. I can take a quick look.

    Hi, I Work Here

Would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so we can log in and take a look? You can create the account with the following email address:

    [email protected]

Just navigate to Users > Add New in your WordPress admin. Enter siteorigin for the username and [email protected] for the email address. Make sure you’ve selected Administrator for the role and enabled the “Send Password” field so we receive the details.

Once we’re finished taking a look, you can delete this account. We’ll let you know when to do that.

    Hi, I Work Here

    That’s half way there:

    Private Snippet

Basic idea to to remove all row padding and then add padding back to the widget on the left. For this to work though your video would need to be higher than the content on the left.

    Hi, I Work Here

Take a look at what I’ve done with widgets and padding etc. Hope that helps get you going.

Ok, thank you for the help, I think I understand how it works now. So I can just change the dimensions of the video to get it to fill the space, and then adjust the padding of the row?

    Thanks you!

Basically, I am trying to get it to look like this picture I attached to the email.

Sorry to keep asking so many questions, but I just realized when I change the size of my browser, the buttons in the middle row become misaligned, I think it may be do to the text in the widgets. Is there any way to keep them inline when people re-size their browser window?

    Thank you!

    Hi, I Work Here

You can try giving each widget a class in the Attributes section and then assign a min-height:

    some-class-name

    Then in Custom CSS:

    .some-class-name {min-height: 300px;}
