Vantage Installation Problem…

Hi
I get to this level of Vantage Install into WordPress, “12/150: Installing WordPress Importer Plugin” and a window saying WordPress has timed out. I would really like to use Vantage, but I have tried 5x and it stops each time at #12. (deleted, redownloaded, rebooted, nothing seems to work). Obviously, with a million DL’s, it must be operator error on my part – and I need some direction. Thanks.

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi K.c,

Unfortunately, this is typically a sign of the server closing the connection. Could you please try using the importer again but when the importer fails, could you please send me the contents of your console? Please refer to this guide on how to access your browser console.

Thanks for your quick reply Alex!

I am running the newest version of WP and PHP 7 version. I noticed that in other responses to this problem this was the "fix." I am running fast to get my site up and business launched, but am not a tech person at all and my attempts without a "pack" are pretty lame (mostly with image sizing,
padding and margin issues!). Any help you could provide would be huge.

Here is the copy from the Chrome Console:

JQMIGRATE: Migrate is installed, version 1.4.1
    /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php?action=importer_action&importer_action=install-plugin&id=wordpress-importer%2Fwordpress-importer.php&expires=1517962694&signature=47aee91615de760d6dc7dee42dccece4
Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 400 (Bad
    Request)
tools.php?page=siteorigin-importer:1 This page includes a password or credit card input in a non-secure context. A warning has been added to the
URL bar. For more information, see https://goo.gl/zmWq3m.

    Thanks Alex!!

    Alex
I did a bit of Googling and found this info about "400 bad request" errors (
https://www.lifewire.com/how-to-fix-a-400-bad-request-error-2617988). It seems in the download URL that there is a "character" that can't be used –
"a %" character is found. Is there another URL I can use – or is my foolish tech naivete at helping a waste of time!
    :)

When I click on the URL in the Console message I sent earlier, this is what the whole thing looks like (you can see there is a % in there):

    http://donovision.us/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php?action=importer_action&importer_action=install-plugin&id=wordpress-importer%2Fwordpress-importer.php&expires=1517962694&signature=47aee91615de760d6dc7dee42dccece4

    Hi Alex
This is also found in the console after relogging back into to WordPress
(not sure if it's anything important but thought I'd send it along):

[Violation] Forced reflow while executing JavaScript took 42ms
VM742 wp-login.php?interim-login=1&wp_lang=en_US:1 [DOM] Input elements should have autocomplete attributes (suggested: "current-password"): (More info: https://goo.gl/9p2vKq) input#user_pass.input
E-v1.js:11 [Violation] 'setTimeout' handler took 114ms

Lastly, I flushed my local machine's DNS and emptied the browser cache and all cookies too…

Hi Alex – I purchased the Premium SiteOrigin package a few hours ago – for more prompt support…thanks!

Alex – is there any "fix" you can send my way for successfully downloading the Vantage Site Pack? I talked to my ISP about the issue and they boosted the PHP – but it didn't help. It seems that the "#" in the code is what may be causing the problem…either way – should I abandon the effort?

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi K.c,

    Sorry for the delay.

Unfortunately, on the forums, a reply will bump you to the bottom of the queue so I wasn’t aware of your premium status until just now. As you’re a premium user, you’re entitled to priority email support. If you would like to make use of that, please follow the instructions found on your Page: Dashboard (please refer to the support tab). Please reference this thread and include your SiteOrigin order key in the email.

Regardless, the # is unlikely the cause for this issue as this works without issue on other websites.
The simplest/quickest workaround would be for me to manually install the Vantage Site Pack for you. Would it be possible for you to create a temporary admin account for us so we can log in and take a look?

Are you able to use FTP? If so, please open your wp-admin directory and find the error_log. Please send me a copy of that file (if you can find it).
