Vantage – how to change the width of the menu bar

Hi
I want a column of blank space down either side of all my web pages. I’ve managed this with the page content, by having small blank columns (10%) at either end of each row in Page Builder. However I don’t seem to be able to reduce the width of the menu bar along the top to match the width of content on the pages. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Ross

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Ross,

    Try the following custom CSS:

     nav.site-navigation.main-navigation.primary.use-sticky-menu{
    margin-left: 10%;
    margin-right: 0;
    }

    Please try and let me know!

    Hi Addo
    Thanks for your response to this and my question regarding amending the size of my logo. I have tried adding the CSS you provided for both problems to the bottom of the style.css file located via Appearance > Editor > Styles.css as you advised but neither makes any difference to the appearance of the website….
    Do you have any idea why this might be?
    Thanks
    Ross

    you are putting the css in the wrong place as within the style.css there will already be parameters set under that css class.

    if you are using vantage premium you add the css to Appearance / custom css

    if you are using the free vantage theme you will need to download a custom css plugin i use
    simple custom css once installed the option appears in Appearance / custom css

    Thank you James! :)

    Ross, please go to Appearance> Custom CSS if you are using the premium theme and add the CSS code I gave you there.
