All other pages update immediately after edits are made. The problem occurs across all tested mobile devices/platforms. All internal/WP/device caches have been cleared, including host cache (Hostgator). Problem has persisted for weeks. Homepage appears fine on desktop and in WP/Vantage mobile previews.
Any ideas on how to further troubleshoot?
Hi Michael
Do you have a URL we can check?
Thanks
Andrew
Hi Andrew.
The site is http://www.NobleWorlds.com. I’m not a web developer, so the site is pretty simple and straightforward, built with stock widgets and no code customization.
If you have any other questions, just let me know. This is driving me crazy. :)
Thanks!

Hi Michael
Thanks. The site looks the same on my desktop and phone. A plugin called Newfold Cache is mentioned in the page markup. Perhaps deactivate any caching related plugins if you’re experiencing update issues. What differences are you seeing?
That is very interesting. The correct homepage has only two blogs showing at the bottom of the page, neither of which are author bios. The incorrect homepage shows two author bios and a third article.
Which are you seeing?
And I don’t have the Newfold Cache plug-in installed. That’s weird. I’ve never installed it.
Thanks, if you view the page source you’ll see the cache reference at the bottom of the page.
On desktop and mobile I see David, Fine Art, J.
Hmm…that’s the old homepage you’re seeing on both platforms. Which is concerning.
Yet, at my location and one in a different state, they see the correct homepage on desktop but old one on mobile.
And since I don’t have any cache plug-ins installed, and I’ve cleared the Hostgator cache and turned off the Endurance Cache, I’m at a loss as to what to do next.
You can try Googling Newfold Cache, it sounds like it’s owned by Bluehost. If the site was previously with Bluehost then it’s possible there are cached files left in you site folder.
It appears that Newfold also owns Hostgator, so I assume then that the Newfold Cache is part of their framework. Which again, should clear when I clear the Hostgator cache, correct?
The site was never hosted by Bluehost, but that might not matter.
Any other thoughts?
At this stage it would be preferable disable caching entirely; is that possible via the control panel?
I have already disabled the Endurance/Newfold Cache in Settings/General, but I cannot remove the Endurance Page Cache Plug-In as it’s listed as a “Must-Use” Plug-In and cannot be deleted.
Beyond that, and probably my last hope, is to follow these instructions found online:
“”You must log in to the hosting cPanel and change your site’s files. Proceed and log into the hosting cPanel. Browse to the public_html directory and locate the “wp-content” folder inside. Here, you can identify and rename the “mu-plugins” directory, which deactivates the Endurance plugin in WordPress, such as changing “mu-plugins” to “mu-plugins-old”.”
I will try this next later today and let you know if that changes anything on my end.
Thanks; that sounds like a plan. Chat then. Cheers.
Unfortunately, that didn’t work.
Hi Michael, I’m unfortunately not sure what the cause of the issue is. You can perhaps try creating a new page and then in Page Builder click LayoutsClone: Pages, clone your home page and see if the issue persists. If not, you could set your new page as your home page from SettingsReading.
Thanks, Andrew. I had considered rebuilding the homepage from the ground up, but I’ll try this first.
If that doesn’t work, I’ll probably have to change themes.
That’s totally understandable. It’s very quick to clone a Page Builder page. Does the issue resolve if you switch themes?
Nothing worked.
I changed themes, made a new page, cloned the homepage, and made it my new homepage–clearing the WordPress and Hostgator caches after each step–and still the old homepage appears.
I’m baffled.
Hi, thanks for your feedback. You could perhaps try changing the Blog Widget to a SiteOrigin Post Loop Widget. You won’t have access to the same templates but there should be an available template that’s acceptable. It’s worthwhile as a test.
Still no luck. I even tried deleting the Blog section of the homepage altogether. Nothing seems to force the homepage to update.
Have you tried creating a new page, calling it something different like Root and setting that page as your home page from SettingsReading. For now you could put any text in the page, don’t use Page Builder, keep it very simple.
Gave that a shot. Still no change on mobile, though desktop updates immediately.
If you create a blank test page or a test page with a few words, set that as the WordPress static home page and temporarily deactivate all plugins including SiteOrigin plugins, does the issue persist?
Andrew–THANK YOU for sticking with me. That seemed to do the trick!
Deactivating and reactivating the plug-ins appears to have reset whatever needed to be reset. And now the Homepage appears to be updating normally across both mobile and desktop.
Again, thank you!
Super; I’m glad to hear that whatever was being cached has cleared and you can get back to working on your site. Cheers for now :)
