Vantage Free Post Thumbnails Missing

Hello:)

I am helping out a fellow who is down on his luck and trying to get him up and running with Vantage Free. Since I’m used to working in Vantage Premium maybe I am missing something simple, but I am unable to get any thumbnails to appear on the posts page (entitled Articles) If it is possible I would like to just use default WP settings using the “articles” page as the posts page under Reading > post page to make it as easy as possible for this fellow to manage his own site. BUT, I have tried the traditional settings, I have tried disabling the original settings and using the posts carousel, I have tried putting an image widget next to the post with pagebuilder and try as I might I am unable to see any images at all on the posts page (Articles), however they are on the individual post when the [more] button is clicked. I did read many existing threads but don’t seem to find this exact issue.
What simple thing am I missing? Here is the link: http://www.seniorchampions.com/articles/

Cheers!

    Hi, I Work Here

    Hi Specialk2e2,

Okay, I think I know what’s going on. When the Post Content (found at WP AdminAppearanceCustomize, Theme SettingsBlog) is set to Excerpt, images added to the post content will not be displayed on archives (blog page, tags, categories, etc) as they’ll be omitted from the excerpt by WordPress. This means that you need to set a featured image via WordPress for the featured image to appear on archives.

To clarify, the post carousel widget is only able to display featured images set via WordPress.

Oh, and you can prevent the featured image from displaying on the post page by navigating to WP AdminAppearanceCustomize, Theme SettingsBlog and ensure that the Featured Image setting is unticked.

You nailed it Alex! Thank you! Now I am wondering if you can tell me how to get rid of the recent comments and meta data in the sidebar… This is only an article blog so I don't want to confuse the older people that are likely to visit: http://www.seniorchampions.com/articles/

    Thanks again mate!
