    Hi Otis

    If you can activate your child theme under Appearance > Themes then that usually means it’s setup correctly and can find the parent stylesheet. Activating a child theme does cause Customizer, Menu and Widget assignments to reset. So you usually have to go back into those settings and redo them.

    A child theme is only required if you need to edit theme files at a code level.

    Hey Andrew,

    I am using Vantage Premium . I am trying to create child theme. I followed step-by-step instructions from creating child theme folder on server wp-content/themes/vantage-child. But when I try to activate child theme, I see child theme I created shows as “Broken Themes” and the reason is “Stylesheet is missing.”. What am I doing wrong here. There is so much information and it is confusing.
